How to implement SELF CARE into your daily schedule

How to implement SELF CARE into your daily schedule

Self care is the practice of taking an active role in protecting one's own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress. We all know that during this weird and uncertain year, stress is of the abundance. All of us have busy lives consisting of school, work, finances, and our families. With hectic schedules it can be difficult to find time for self care. I am here to give you 5 tips for adding self care into your daily schedule.

1. Stay hydrated

Yeah yeah, we all know that water is important. But it is REALLY important for you to drink as much water as you can, every day. Water promotes healthy skin, prevents headaches, helps with digestion, among many other health benefits. The easiest and sustainable way to drink plenty of water is to have a re-usable water bottle on hand. I was getting annoyed with having to refill my water bottle so many times in the day and have been using a motivational gallon water bottle. Yes, you heard that right, a GALLON! The price is inexpensive and the bottle has motivational times and quotes on the side such as, "you got this" "remember your goal", etc. It comes in 15 colors and you can find the water bottle on amazon.

2. Connect With Your Body

Taking care of our bodies is the ultimate form of self-care. We only have one body all throughout our lives. Work hard to be happy with your body no matter the size or shape. This body gets you from point A to point B, it keeps you alive and thriving. If you are short on time, a mini stepper is the perfect solution. You can keep it in your living room or office because it is literally tiny. You can burn calories while watching TV or taking a work break. This one I found also comes with resistance bands to work your arms. The cost is less than a gym membership and totally worth it.

3. Smell Something Yummy

Using all of our senses are a great way to practice self care. I think everyone can agree that a fresh scent can boost your mood. Candles are a perfect way to give your mind a little break. If you can't find time to step away from work, light a candle at your desk or in your office. The fresh linen scent of this vegan, cruelty-free, candle gives your nose and brain a boost. You can find this luscious candle on Amazon.

4. Get Some Rest

Make your bed feel like a luxe vacation with some good quality sheets. Freshly washed sheets that are smooth, silky, and cool are the best feeling. If you want to end your long day with some self care, get yourself sheets that feel like hotel sheets. They don't have to break the bank, you just need the right cotton fabric.

5. Five Minute Facial At Home

Don't have time to hit the spa? No problem! Rejuvenate you skin & relax with your favorite face cream and a Jade roller. A jade stone roller promotes blood circulation, which can reduce puffiness and wrinkling. Who doesn't want that?! It also relieves pressure, in your face which can put you in a graceful or relaxed mood. I keep my roller in the fridge for that nice icy feeling on my face and the best results.

Remember that self care doesn't have to be some long-winded routine or a vacation away from the family. Incorporating these small, inexpensive suggestions can relieve stress and don't need to interfere with your busy schedule. Happy Relaxation!
